Our Services

Dental Examinations

A dental examination/check-up, involves a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and mouth. This including an oral cancer screening, jaw joint analysis, cosmetic review, intraoral photographs and radiographs (if necessary) and also checking your bite. We take the time to listen to what you want from your treatment then plan the best possible solution for you.

General Dentistry

At Pristine Dentistry our caring and experienced team offer all aspects of general dentistry. We care for all ages and stages.

We recommend that you visit every six months and this way we can support you in preserving healthy teeth and gums.

Children’s Dentistry

Pristine Dentistry recommends regular dental check-ups for children from the age of two.

We love working with kids and making their visits to the dentist enjoyable experiences. Our practitioners have extensive experience working with children of all ages and have specialised training in children’s dentistry.

We understand that time is of the essence in cases of dental emergencies.

Dental Implants

Dental implants have become an extremely popular and an effective method to replace missing teeth, or to replace the need of your dentures. They are the next best thing to your own teeth!

Tooth Whitening

Same Day Cerec Restorations & Crowns

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment may be required when a tooth has been badly damaged through tooth decay reaching the nerve inside the tooth or from trauma. This damage can often cause a tooth ache which can lead to an infection or abscessed tooth which if left untreated can then progress to facial swelling and severe pain.

Fillings

Restorations can be made of different materials and they are used to restore decayed teeth, broken teeth, cracked fillings, replace old metal fillings, close the gap between teeth or even repair cracked teeth. They are best suited for small to medium sized defects. They are matched in colour to your existing teeth, making them blend in perfectly.

Professional Cleaning & Polishing

It’s essential to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. At Pristine Dentistry our dental therapist and hygienists are specifically trained to remove plaque on your teeth, below your gums, to measure your gum depth and remove stains using Guided Biofilm Therapy which is minimally invasive and leaves your teeth feeling amazing.

Crown & Bridge

If you don’t like the idea of a denture and having a removable prosthesis in your mouth, “full arch” or “full jaw” dental implants may be the right option for you.

Extractions

Extractions are the removal of a tooth/teeth, necessary to maintain healthy teeth and gums. There are varying reasons for extractions but most commonly it includes badly broken or cracked teeth that cannot be repaired, loose teeth, a severely infected tooth indicated by swollen gums or face, as well as, the removal of teeth to facilitate orthodontic treatment (braces.)

Night Guards

Most of us grind and clench our teeth. For some of us this grinding and clenching can become a problem. Bruxism is excessive clenching or grinding not related to normal chewing. Bruxism can lead to very worn-down teeth, sensitivity, tooth pain, headaches, jaw pain and cracked teeth.

Digital X-Rays

Our comprehensive examination also includes x-rays of all teeth using small electronic films and a full mouth x-ray (OPG.) The small intra-oral x-ray is recommended every 2 years and full mouth x-ray every 4 years.

Veneers

Veneers are a bonded facing that sits on the front of a tooth or teeth. At Pristine Dentistry we offer Porcelain and Composite Resin veneers. Veneers can improve the shape, size and colour of teeth. They can also be used to fill in gaps or improve the appearance of crooked teeth. At a consultation or examination appointment your dentist can discuss if veneers are a good option for you.

Fissure Sealants

Fissure sealants are a preventative treatment. They are a thin resin coating applied to the biting surface of teeth to protect against decay and make it easier to keep the teeth clean. Pristine Dentistry may recommend them on the biting surfaces of your back teeth. Fissure sealant are commonly recommended for children and are usually placed after the permanent teeth appear.

Dentures

Our beautiful restorations are works of art and made to stand the test of time. Restorations can be made of different materials and they are used to restore decayed teeth, broken teeth, cracked fillings, replace old metal fillings, close the gap between teeth or even repair cracked teeth.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is not an artificial compound or some sort of medication, but rather a naturally-occurring mineral that’s found in rocks and soil, vegetables and grains, as well as in fresh and salt water. The fluoride found in the environment however is not sufficient on its own to protect your teeth, which is why small supplemental amounts are added to the water supply, as well as into toothpaste, gels and other dental products.

Mouth Guards

A professionally made custom Mouth Guard offers superior protection. They are custom fitted to your teeth by taking an impression. This results in a more comfortable guard that resists movement and allows easier communication and breathing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need regular check-up?

Regular check-ups are highly important and recommended to avoid costly surprises and prevent problems. If you are aware of a problem early, you will have time to choose the best treatment option. Where if you have a dental emergency, getting you out of pain is the main priority. If a problem is dealt with in an early stage, the treatment is more successful and it can save you a lot of money and time.

I clean my teeth at home, why do I need a professional clean?

Even though you brush and floss your teeth daily, it is very important for your overall health and recommended that you have a professional clean every 6 months. However, some people will require more frequent appointments, especially if periodontal disease is present and being managed. When plaque remains on your teeth, it combines with your saliva to harden into tartar or calculus. If left untreated you can develop bleeding gums, bad breath, a receding gum line and eventually teeth mobility. Getting your teeth cleaned and polished, not only gives you a great smile but it also prevents future decay, gum disease and bad breath.

Is fluoride effective?

Yes, fluoride strengthens the teeth and has been clinically proven to lower decay rates significantly. Fluoride can also reverse early decay and combat sensitivity. Professionally applied fluoride is a lot stronger than what you can get in a toothpaste and our therapist and hygienist selects the right fluoride treatment for keeping your teeth healthier and stronger.

Why do I need X-Rays?

Dental x-rays are a valuable tool in examining and screening the teeth and gums, especially as they can see more than the naked eye.

Bitewing x-rays are taken on the left and right side of your mouth and are recommended to be taken every 2 years. These x-rays show between your teeth, detecting any early decay, which if detected early enough, could be stopped and reversed without the need of a filling.

OPG x-rays is a panoramic view of your whole mouth, showing your teeth, jawbone, joints, and sinuses. It shows us areas beyond the reach of the smaller bitewing x-rays, like the presence of your wisdom teeth even before they start to erupt and cause and damage. It is recommended to have your OPG x-rays updated every 3 years.

Are dental x-rays safe?

Our dental x-rays have an extremely low radiation dose, while giving the highest resolution images. The radiation dose from an x-ray from our machine is the same dose you would get if you were to eat around 20 bananas. Nevertheless we are committed in our practice to use aiming devices and lead aprons if required to ensure your safety.
